Release Notes: Perimeter Application Updates

staffPerimeter Staff – May 6, 2025

The Perimeter team is constantly working to enhance our application(s) based on customer feedback and user experience. We will be deploying two significant enhancements on May 7th, 2025. Both of these changes will be implemented in the Web Application, however, in the Mobile Application only the Closed Route and Impact Area Color Updates will be implemented at this time. No application update will be required.

Closed Road & Impact Area Color Updates – Web Application and Mobile App

Based on user feedback, we have updated the colors of the Closed Road Line & Impact Area Line to improve clarity while meeting ADA accessibility guidelines. This will be a backend update and will be immediately available. Previously, a Closed Road was black and Impact Area was dark red. The new colors are as follows:

  • Closed Road: RED
  • Impact Area: PURPLE

Recalculate Route & Advanced Routing – Web Application only

NOTE: This feature will be included in our next Mobile App update

We have implemented advanced logic which will allow for improved route handling through complex roadways. Previously, once a route was set, the system would choose the shortest path between two points; this could only be resolved by undoing and manually setting anchor points closer together.

“Recalculate Route” Button

  • The recalculate feature searches for alternative routes when possible as seen in the example below. Allowing users to navigate through complex roadways like mountainous terrain and develop alternate routes.
  • This feature only recalculates the segment between the two latest selected anchor points.

Example of usage of the "Recalculate Route" button

As always, please contact Van Riviere at van@perimeterplatform.com or by telephone at (209) 483.1513 if you have questions or encounter challenges of any kind.

Sincerely,
The Perimeter Team
