Release Notes: Perimeter Platform Update

staffPerimeter Staff – June 24, 2026

We are constantly working to enhance our applications based on customer feedback and user experience. On Thursday, June 25, 2026, we will deploy a design refresh to the Public Web Map that makes the map cleaner, easier to scan, and aligned with national incident-symbol standards.

Map & Layer Updates

  • NIFC fire and NOAA flood layers now have dedicated icons, visible at all zoom levels. Icons cluster as you zoom out and separate as you zoom in.
  • To keep the map clean and easy to understand, Perimeter data now appears as you zoom into your operational area.
  • Inactive zones are more transparent, reducing visual noise and improving readability.

New Icons – All Solution (web, mobile, pubic map)

We’ve redesigned our icon set to align with the NAPSG Incident Symbol Guidelines. Standardizing to a recognized national symbology means faster recognition across agencies and mutual-aid resources. The new set uses shape and color to convey meaning at a glance.

  • Diamond = Hazards
  • Square = Infrastructure
  • Circle = Resources and Statuses

As always, please contact Van Riviere at van@perimeterplatform.com or by phone at (209) 483-1513 if you have questions or encounter challenges of any kind.

Sincerely,
The Perimeter Team
