Responder Corp, an organization focused on supporting the public safety industry, invited Perimeter co-founders Bailey Farren and Noah Wu to a demonstration of new technologies built on 5G capability.

The event was co-hosted by Verizon and Responder Corps as part of their 5G First Responder Lab program, an accelerator for startups with a focus on bringing new technology to public safety. Farren and Wu attended the demonstration for Cohort 3, the most recent class of 5 companies, on January 29.

The 5G First Responder Lab is a 3-month program that connects startups to boots-on-the-ground, with the goal of identifying the most important needs of first responders. The program also facilitates partnerships with public safety agencies to deploy and test new technologies.

Cohorts were invited to participate in a panel discussion of their products and 5G-enabled solutions, following an overview of the program and its accomplishments by Responder Corp representatives. The companies present also provided live demonstrations of their products, which ranged from AI-powered security capabilities to virtual training simulations.

Verizon developed the lab in collaboration with ResponderXLabs, an innovation-support program developed by Responder Corps, to support testing and integration of their new 5G networks.

Perimeter is currently exploring a relationship with the 5G First Responder Lab, to increase internet access for first responders in low-connectivity areas.
